The Plain Dealer's publisher Terrance C. Z. Egger to be
honored
at Cleveland POPS G-Clef Ball fund raiser
The Cleveland POPS Orchestra has chosen Terrance C.Z. Egger, the
publisher of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland's metropolitan daily
newspaper and the largest newspaper in Ohio, to be its honoree
at their annual G-Clef Ball. The Ball, a fund raiser to benefit
the non-profit Cleveland POPS, will take place on Friday, November
13, 2009 at the InterContinental-Cleveland Hotel. located in the
heart of Cleveland's cultural district known as University
Circle. The G-Clef Ball, considered to be one of the most spectacular
of fund raisers held in Cleveland is the seventh such event for
the orchestra; noteworthy for its unusual silent auction and the
entertainment and dance music provided by maestro Carl Topilow
and the world-renowned Cleveland POPS.
This year's Honoree Terry Egger, formerly president and
publisher of The Saint Louis Post-Dispatch, joined The
Plain Dealer in May, 2006 and has since become a respected and valued friend
of the Cleveland POPS.
Medical Mutual of Ohio is the primary presenting sponsor of The
G-Clef Ball.
