A Message from Our President President and Chief Executive Officer It is always exciting to start a new season of bringing the music we know you love! Our opening concert of the season, Jerry Herman Legacy, is certainly high on everyone’s list, I am sure. We thank the Jerry Herman Foundation for making this possible. As part of that concert the Jerry Herman Foundation sent in Scott Coulter and John Boswell to work with students from The School of the Arts. It is our pleasure to be able to work with this fine school and feature one of those students on our stage along with Broadway’s finest performers. This past year has been very exciting for The Cleveland Pops as we have embarked upon our 20-20 plan for shaping our future! There our new Logo! Three little words to express what we do: Entertain, Engage, and Educate! We have expanded our staff and our Board of Directors. We are adding Distance Learning to our Actual Music program for children K through 3rd grade. We will be expanding our Jean L. Petitt scholarship competition with added prizes and opportunities for our winners. We are working with more interns from area colleges in arts management. Our conductor, Carl Topilow and I have given numerous talks though out the city. And…we have added “Musical Moments” for our donors and subscribers! These are invitation-only events to meet guest artists, our Conductor, and musicians. There will be conversations, performances, cocktail parties, sneak preview parties, and backstage tours! The Cleveland Pops Orchestra will continue to be an important part of the Cleveland Arts Community and beyond, by improving the quality of life through music! 5
