The Cleveland Pops 18th season ended with a bang, as the final chorus of Stars and Stripes, complete with the 122nd Army Band of the Ohio National Guard processing down the aisle of Severance Hall, and the exhilarating flag drop gracing the stage of Severance Hall. Our annual Salute to the Armed Forces include selections played by the aforementioned band, and the participation of the Mutual Gifts Gospel Choir, Fox 8’s Todd Meany, the Joint Veterans Honor Guard, and the Cleveland Pops Chorus, expertly directed by William Zurkey. Jean L Petitt scholarship competition winner violinist Maria Beltavski played a stunning performance of John Williams’ Schindler’s List.
