Cleveland POPS Orchestra brings legendary Broadway star Craig Schulman to the Severance Hall stage

February 1, 2006—CLEVELAND, OH—Craig Schulman is the only performer in the world to have thrilled Broadway audiences in all three of musical theater's most coveted roles: Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and the title role of Dr. Jekyll in Jekyll and Hyde. Carl Topilow will conduct his acclaimed Cleveland POPS in "Craig Schulman on Broadway" on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 8:00 P.M. in Severance Hall.

The all-Broadway evening will feature musical blockbusters from the smash hit shows in which Schulman has performed during his brilliant career. The audience will be treated to a night of some of Broadway's best music, including "Bring Him Home," "Music of The Night," "This is the Moment," "King of the Forest," "Being Alive" and so much more. Cleveland POPS will add their full orchestral touch to medleys of music by Stephen Sondheim and Irving Berlin, as well as medleys from Les Miserables and Man of La Mancha, among others.

Sixteen-year-old pianist Jerry Lang, II will make his Cleveland Pops Orchestra debut. Mr. Lange is the 2005 grand prize winner in the Jean L. Petitt Memorial Music Scholarship competition conducted by the orchestra. A student of Ella Karasik at The Cleveland Music School Settlement, Jerry has studied piano since age three and has won many prestigious awards. His lifetime goal is to become a concert pianist and perform at Carnegie Hall.
